A vibrant new mentorship programme for young composers and performers, three selected early-career Canadian composers are each writing a new work for flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano and percussion and are working with composition mentors to fine tune their creations. Six selected early-career performers will then work and learn from the Continuum Core Ensemble to prepare and perform the new compositions, as well as two pieces by composition mentors Linda Catlin Smith and Anthony Tan.
BIGLAKE is thrilled to present a concert featuring the results of this dynamic mentorship programme. We welcome you to hear these freshly created compositions, (they will be only a few months old!), performed by the next generation of Canadian performers. The HATCH Ensemble will be conducted by Kelly Lin, participant in the Women In Musical Leadership program. New music can’t get much newer than this!
Thanks to the generous assistance of our sponsor, this concert is Free.
