It's Christmas!!!! And we've got the perfect night to kick start the festivities!
Totally adorable MC Josh Jones is a high-energy performer who wins the audience over from the off. This super camp Manchester lad can tackle a range of subjects from school yard politics to gay rights in Pakistan and is able to improvise on the fly creating razor sharp observations.
Josh started comedy in the North West playing tough rooms to scary old drunk men, but this made Josh the strong comedian that he is today. This young, friendly, and energetic performer has the cutest little baby face that makes you love him despite the awful things he says! Josh recently presented the series Fast Food Face Off on BBC Three.
"Engaging personality, and a back-story that should keep him in routines for years to come" Chortle
Since winning the inaugural Scottish Comedian of the Year Award in 2006, barely a year after his first-ever open-spot, Mark Nelson’s mix of dark humour, cutting observations and superb one-liners has seen him firmly established as one of the UK’s biggest-hitting comedy powerhouses. He has been tour support for Jason Manford, Russell Kane and Jim Jeffries.
With a likeable manner on stage belying some of the stronger content, Nelson often has audiences laughing at things they know they really shouldn’t be laughing at. An MA degree in Politics from Glasgow University supports his brilliantly topical writing and, although his stand-up is certainly not for the easily offended, the material is intelligent, well-conceived and beautifully crafted, all supported by a very confident delivery.
More recently Mark has appeared on The One Show (BBC1) Comedy Marathon (BBC3) and Comedy Underground (BBC Scotland)
Mark has sold out his hour-long shows at more than a dozen Glasgow International Comedy Festivals and performed six hugely successful seasons at the Edinburgh Fringe. In 2017 he was voted by Voice magazine as Winner of Pick of the Fringe.
"Mark Nelson possesses a talent that is simply obscene..you'll want to see what all the fuss is about..his act definitely reveals a star in the making." The List
"A viciously sharp sense of timing" Metro
"A remarkably accomplished stage presence… blistering material which pushes dangerously near the boundaries of good taste. " Sunday Times
Christian Reilly has long been a favourite act at Big Mouth. His ‘Lolalternative rock' musical comedy is always a fantastic crowd pleaser. Sharp-eyed comedy fans will already know and love Christian for his award winning and downright hilarious work with both Rich Hall and Bill Bailey.
"A charmingly confident performer, an accomplished musician and a clever comic… The funniest songs I have heard in a long time " The Scotsman
Comedian in the middle is North East favourite and one to watch Anja Atkinson who is garnering attention for her relentless, caustic wit.
