Local Antibiotic Delivery: Transforming Wound Infection
Thu 20 Mar 2025 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM GMT
Online, Zoom
Description
Chair: Mr James Cowden
Speakers: Dr Prashanth Vas & Maureen Bates
Providing examples of previous similar interventions from recent publications, the speakers share their experience, highlighting the patient selection method, management pathway and preliminary patient outcomes. This clinical intervention includes people with diabetes who had non-healing foot ulcers despite receiving best standard of care. The preliminary experience indicates that provision of antibiotic-loaded calcium sulfate (STIMULAN®) is practical in a busy multidisciplinary service and can be feasibly managed in the outpatient facility and can improve outcomes across multiple areas.
International healthcare professionals are invited to attend the webinar.
This presentation may include uses or techniques that go beyond the current clearance/approval granted by the relevant regulatory authority and may include information not in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions for use in your territory.
STIMULAN® Rapid Cure is intended for use as a bone / soft tissue void filler for voids or gaps that are not intrinsic to the stability of the bony structure. The characteristics of STIMULAN® make it suitable as a carrier material for substances such as antibiotics.
