Learn the bird sounds of woods and parkland
In these half-day outdoor workshops, we explore how to identify common resident and migratory birds on the nature-rich edge of Brighton.
Each ‘walkshop’ includes:
- Before the day, access to step-by-step audio lessons on how to identify five key woodland species by sound
- A gentle 2.5-hour walk around the woodland and downland edge at Stanmer Park
- Potential species encountered will include Yellowhammer, Corn Bunting, Grey Wagtail, Goldcrest, Mistle Thrush, Nuthatch, Skylark, Green Woodpecker, Robin, Blackbird, Dunnock, Stock Dove, common finches, crows & tits, Chiffchaff and Blackcap.
- Tea, coffee and cake, and a sit-down Q&A session at The One Garden to end the morning
- Easy access by bus, rail, bike or car
- Small group size (maximum 8 participants)
- Starts 9.15am, finishes 12.45pm
- 10% of ticket revenue will go to a local wildlife conservation project
This workshop is led by Charlie Peverett.
