The Warehouse: a model of energy efficiency improvements to a traditional building Saturday 17th October 12:30pm

The Warehouse is Birmingham Friends of the Earth’s environmental community building which is a space for activism and a home to the organisation's campaigns activity, meeting space, the vegan Warehouse Cafe, Voce Books and Sprocket Cycles. It also offers rentable office spaces which used by organisations that share their values. 

A recent refurbishment has transformed and increased the space, making it much more accessible and helping to save energy. Join us on a small group study tour of this important renovation of a traditional building that is one of the most important community and cultural hubs in the city. 

Learn about internal and external solid wall insulation (in different places), double glazing, roof insulation, draught proofing, heating controls, energy efficient lighting, lighting controls and what a study for a heat pump has revealed.
