About the speaker:

Professor Ramalingam Chithiramohan, is a Consultant Psychiatrist and former Deputy Medical Director and Director of Governance and Service Effectiveness at the Birmingham and Solihull Mental health Foundation Trust.

He is a visiting Professor of Psychiatry at University of Madras in India and a former external examiner in University of Malaya in Malaysia. He has been a Clinical Tutor and Director Medical Education for many years. He has served on the Court of Electors and the Council of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

He has been very active in post graduate medical education throughout his career. He has extensive teaching interests. He has delivered more than 2000 invited lectures on a range of topics in the UK and abroad.

In the last 3 years he was involved with the World Psychiatric Association (WPA) in delivering education in Low and Middle income countries. He has developed number of online training modules on Vascular Cognitive impairment/ HIV and mental health, timely diagnosis of dementia and Dementias with Parkinsonian features. He was also a member of the WPA Evidence Based Psychopharmacology special interest Group.
