Birmingham University Swimming Team (1996-2026) - Gary's 30th Anniversary

30 years ago, Gary took on the role of swimming coach for the Birmingham University Swimming Team (the 1996/97 team). Little did he (or any of us) know that three decades later the team would have grown enormously and Gary would still be leading it as Head Coach.

To celebrate this milestone, members of the 1996 team are organising a reunion for anyone who has been coached by Gary over the past 30 years. In that time he has coached hundreds of students, and we’d love to see as many former and current swimmers there as possible.

During the day, the university will be offering campus tours for any alumni who would like to see how things have changed (including a visit to the new pool for those of us who only ever trained at the Munro Sports Centre).

In the evening, we’ll be gathering at 7pm in Underground (formerly Berlins) at the Guild, with food served at 8pm.
