Treading Water/Brebbal Ushtey - Album Launch Party
Please join us for the hugely exciting launch of our long anticipated second album, Treading Water/Brebbal Ushtey.
As the most ambitious project we’ve undertaken as a band, we can’t wait to celebrate the four long years of writing, crafting, arranging, recording, re-recording, mixing and mastering. The album explores themes of grief, suicide, mental health and hope and we’re anxious for you to hear it!
We’re delighted to be an official Blein Ny Gaelgey (Year of the Manx Language) event, with the whole album being recorded in both English and Manx. We’re so proud to be producing new contemporary music in the Manx language and we’ll be performing in both languages on launch night.
To recreate the wide orchestral soundscape of the album, we’ll be joined on stage for one night only by very special guests, previous band members, and additional brass and strings!
We’ll be supported by local rising star Alice Ashe, the folk-rock gothic country femme fatale behind debut single, Six Feet Under! Think Stevie Nicks, Sheryl Crow and Alanis Morissette.
AND the beautiful Brighton based Italian delicate folky ukulele songstress Julia Traser, a wonderful friend of ours that we gained on the ukulele circuit and hot off the heels of the release of her debut album, Perfect Timing. Influences include Dodie, Sara Bareilles, Jason Mraz and KT Tunstall.
We’re decking out the stunning Laxey Pavilion as a watery dreamscape, so let the worries of the new year melt away and tread water with us for one incredible night.
