The Dead Moon
For Halloween, Blabbermouth Community Storytelling presents an atmospheric retelling of a classic English Folk Tale.
The Dead Moon, sometimes known by its alternative title, The Buried Moon is a strange story of the moon descending from the sky in the form of a woman, to illuminate the marshes, where local people live in fear of the horrors lurking in the darkness. On 28th October, local storyteller and award winning archaeologist Dan Broadbent will present a unique retelling of this tale, to be followed by a Q&A exploring the origins of a story which some have claimed as evidence of pre-Christian moon worship, whilst others have questioned its veracity. Is it really an ancient tale or, rather, a Victorian invention?
