Webinar - Racial Equity Is (Still) Good for Business
Tue Jan 21, 2025 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST
Online, Zoom
Description
Efforts to build an equitable, inclusive U.S. economy are under attack. From the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn affirmative action in college admissions decisions to lawsuits against organizations that provide business funding specifically for BIPOC communities, the landscape is changing. Many businesses express a desire to continue their social change and sustainability work but are left wondering–how do we continue to build resilient, purpose-driven businesses in this new landscape?
In 2025, B Lab U.S. & Canada will partner with business leaders to host a webinar series for B Corps and organizations focused on advancing racial equity. As part of the "Business for Good" Campaign, this first webinar will feature a panel moderated by Keecha Harris, CEO of Keecha Harris & Associates, with insights from Jorge Fontanez, CEO of B Lab U.S. & Canada, and other B Corp leaders. The series is designed to help businesses navigate the evolving landscape and continue using business as a force for good.
What Attendees Can Expect:
Panelists will provide insights into the evolving business landscape and discuss how to preserve racial equity and sustainability practices within your business.
At this event, we will also cover practical strategies for leveraging business as a force for good amidst shifting regulations and societal expectations. Audience members will hear expert guidance from Keecha Harris on aligning business operations with long-term sustainability and equity goals.
Attendees will walk away with a deeper understanding of how racial equity, sustainability, and climate justice frameworks can drive social impact and business resilience. Attendees will also learn about actionable steps to improve or sustain their organization’s responsible business initiatives in today’s business landscape. Lastly, this event will provide attendees with networking connections and introductions to like-minded professionals, including B Corps committed to driving equitable social change.
