What can your local Health Determinants Research Collaboration do for you?

The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) has funded 30 Health Determinants Research Collaborations (HDRCs) across England to strengthen research capacity in local government. These teams help councils and their partners to make better use of research, evidence, and community insight to take meaningful action on health inequalities.

In this session, the NIHR HDRC Blackpool team, also known as Blackpool Researching Together, will:

• Reflect on lessons learned from the first three years of developing the HDRC model in Blackpool
• Present new developments and a refreshed offer for years 3–6, outlining how the team will support council services and local partners
• Share practical, real-world examples showing how HDRC support can help meet local ambitions to improve health and reduce inequalities

This session will be relevant to anyone in Blackpool who is looking: 

• To strengthen research- and evidence-informed ways of working within their teams or organisations
• To become more research active and deepen connections with university researchers
• To connect with different forms of knowledge and evidence and in particular community insights and lived experience perspectives

Location

This session is in-person only. It will be held in Conference Room 3A and 3B in Bickerstaffe House with visitor passes provided to attendees outside of Blackpool Council.
