Join us for an engaging and collaborative workshop led by Heather Catt, Public Health Consultant at Blackpool Council, focused on co‑designing a practical and meaningful evaluation framework for the council’s programmes and initiatives. This interactive session forms part of our wider commitment to strengthening evidence-informed practice across Blackpool and building a shared, coherent approach to understanding impact.

During the session, Heather will guide participants through:

  • Key principles of effective evaluation and why they matter for our work
  • How to develop clear outcomes, indicators, and measures of success
  • Ways to identify gaps, challenges, and opportunities within existing practice
  • Collaborative activities to shape a framework that is both useful and realistic
  • Tools and techniques to support ongoing learning and improvement across teams

This session is open to colleagues from all directorates, regardless of prior experience with evaluation. Together, we will explore what “good” looks like for Blackpool and co-create an approach that supports meaningful reflection, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Who should join?

This workshop is ideal for:

  • Council staff involved in planning, delivering, or monitoring programmes
  • Teams looking to strengthen evidence, learning, and measurement in their work
  • Anyone wanting to build confidence with evaluation tools and approaches
  • Colleagues interested in contributing to a shared organisational framework

By the end of the session, you will have helped shape an evaluation model that works for Blackpool, supporting better understanding of what we do, why it matters, and how we can make the biggest difference for our communities.

This session is in-person only. It will be held in Bickerstaffe House (Room 3A and 3B) with visitor passes provided to attendees outside of Blackpool Council. Please note the workshop is 90 minutes in duration from 10 - 11.30am.
