Need help?
Join us for a joint session exploring research in social care.
Katy Cleece is a social worker at Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCft) and is currently an NIHR pre-doctoral award holder. Katy’s work addresses systemic issues in children’s social care, including the need for trauma-informed practices.
Katy will talk about how research has shaped her career to become the LSCft social work research lead, NorthWest region research community settings lead, and go on to win awards such as the Northwest Coast Research and Innovation Award for “capacity building in research”. With a commitment to increasing diversity in research participation, particularly inclusion from “unheard voices”, Katy will talk about the co-production projects she’s been involved with. Katy will also share her experience of the NIHR pre-doctoral fellowship.
You’ll also hear from the NIHR Research Support Service (RSS) Specialist Centre for Social Care (York and Partners), which provides expert advice to researchers and practitioners developing social care studies.
The NIHR RSS Specialist Centre for Social Care aims to support the next generation of high quality research evidence needed to improve the lives and wellbeing of people who draw on care and support. We bring together interdisciplinary experts with a broad range of experience in social care research, working nationally to support researchers across the full range of social care services and settings. We support all researchers and practitioners across England who are seeking expert advice on social care-related research.
