Course Description

Sketch Level 2 takes your comedy writing to the next level by introducing advanced techniques that go beyond the basic structure learned in Level 1.

You’ll explore more complex comedic forms that deviate from the standard three-beat structure. We'll dive into more tools that can elevate your sketches, including how to use status, mapping, and building and releasing tension for maximum impact. You’ll learn the art of editing your scripts, such as how to tighten dialogue, refine structure, and eliminate anything that doesn’t serve the overall comedic flow.

The class will also examine important writers' room etiquette, including how to collaborate effectively, give and receive feedback professionally, and work within a group to elevate your material.
