Blackwater Valley Countryside Trust Rail to Trail Walk
Need help?
Join the Rail to Trail walk.
On Sunday 22nd October we are organising a group walk to explore the Blackwater Valley and to show just how easy it is to access the rail network that runs alongside the valley.
We will start the walk at North Camp Station at 10am and will finish at Sandhurst 13km later, passing both Farnborough North and Blackwater stations along the way, arriving at Sandhurst Station in time to catch the train back to North Camp.
We would love you to join us – for all of the walk or for just parts. Non-members are welcome too.
We aim to start the walk at 10am sharp at North Camp station outside the ticket office. Please aim to be there a bit earlier so that we can start the walk on time. We will walk the 13km as a group along the valley footpath to Sandhurst via Farnborough North and Blackwater train stations, then catch the train back to North Camp. The walk will incorporate Grants Moor and Blackwater grass meadows.
Due to the time of year, please wear stout footwear and be prepared for all types of weather. Unfortunately this walk is not suitable for wheelchair users due to the uneven terrain.
The walk is free to book but is limited to 35 persons only and you will need to buy your own train ticket if you plan to use the train on the way home. Please do book both the event and you train ticket in advance to avoid disappointment.
The walk is open to all ages, but any children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Dogs too are welcome, but must be kept on a lead at all times.
For those arriving by car at North Camp and don't know the area there is the North Camp Station Car Park which is situated at the end of Station Road West. Please pay using the APCOA app as there is a fixed daily charge of £1.80 on a Sunday.
