We are delighted to invite you to join us at the Scottish Parliament for an evening of critical dialogue and strategic networking as we approach the 2026 Scottish Election. This reception is a vital forum for MSPs to engage directly with leaders of the purpose-driven business movement as Scotland prepares to head to the polls.
The next Scottish Parliament faces urgent challenges: the cost of living crisis, strain on public services, the housing emergency, and accelerating action on the climate emergency and Net Zero targets.
B Corps and other values-led businesses are uniquely positioned to be delivery partners for solutions to these issues. They are legally committed to balancing profit with social and environmental performance, making them resilient allies in building a thriving Wellbeing Economy. This is an opportunity to explore concrete mechanisms for collaboration to fund, scale, and embed these business solutions into government policy.
Guests will hear from inspirational leaders, including:
The Deputy First Minister of Scotland, Kate Forbes MSP (Cabinet Secretary for Economy and Gaelic)
Michelle Thomson MSP (Host and Sponsor of the event)
Tom Ebbutt, Director of Impact at B Lab UK (the charity that supports the B Corp movement)
James Ferguson Rennie, Regional Marketing Manager UK & DACH at The Social Hub
The evening will connect senior policymakers and political stakeholders with B Corp and purpose-driven business leaders, B Lab UK, and the B Local Scotland team - a network actively co-creating solutions to Scotland’s biggest challenges and driving forward an inclusive economy.
