Forest Bathing 🌳
Join us for an immersive woodland experience called Shinrin Yoku, or forest bathing. In this session, Helen Todd will invite participants to slow down, and deeply connect with nature through a series of sensory activities. Research shows these mindful forest experiences are beneficial for psychological wellbeing, while also fostering a reciprocal relationship with nature.
For this session Bloom has teamed up with Helen Todd, who is passionate about nature connection as a tool for both improving mental health and wellbeing, and inspiring people to take better care of the environment. She holds an International Forest Therapy Guide Diploma. Helen has a background working with charities in the UK and internationally in leadership, innovation, and arts for social change roles.
For this session we will meet at the entrance to Heeley & Meersbrook Allotments, Carfield Lane, S8 9HW. We will then take a walk through Cat Lane Woods and end with a hot drink and snacks at Big Bloom, our community garden at Heeley & Meersbrook Allotments.
🌈 Who Can Attend:
This event is for women and non-binary people, and we are a proudly trans-inclusive organisation. Everyone is welcome – whether you’re coming with a friend or on your own, we look forward to meeting you!
This event is delivered by Bloom Sheffield and is part of their Winter Wellbeing Programme. This programme is a seasonal offering designed to support mental health, connection, and community during the colder, darker months. Through a mix of creative workshops, gentle outdoor activities, reflective gatherings, and social events, we create warm and welcoming spaces where people can slow down, connect with others, and find moments of calm. Sessions are offered on a pay-as-you-can basis, making them as accessible as possible, and all contributions go directly back into supporting Bloom Sheffield’s work with women across the city.
