Botanical Life Drawing
Join local artist and illustrator Liah Edwardes for a calming and creative botanical life drawing session, set in the welcoming surroundings of The Victoria.
📍The Victoria
1 Rowland Street
Neepsend, S3 8DE
In this relaxed workshop, we’ll slow down and take time to appreciate the delicate beauty of fresh flowers and foliage. Guided by Liah, we’ll explore the beauty of flowers by arranging them into elegant compositions for sketching, then use a variety of drawing techniques to capture their unique textures, shapes, and colours.
Whether you're drawn to the gentle curve of a petal or the intricate structure of a leaf, this session invites you to look closely and connect with the natural world through art. We'll be working primarily with coloured pencils and soft pastels, allowing for a gentle, expressive approach to mark-making.
No previous drawing experience is needed—this is a supportive, beginner-friendly space where curiosity is more important than technical skill. Liah will offer live demonstrations, one-to-one guidance, and practical tips throughout, helping you develop confidence and discover your own drawing style.
All materials will be provided, so just bring yourself and a willingness to experiment. You’ll leave with a beautiful piece (or several!) of your own botanical artwork, plus a renewed sense of creative calm.
🌈 Who Can Attend:
This event is for women and non-binary people, and we are a proudly trans-inclusive organisation. Everyone is welcome – whether you’re coming with a friend or on your own, we look forward to meeting you!
This event is delivered by Bloom Sheffield and is part of their Winter Wellbeing Programme. This programme is a seasonal offering designed to support mental health, connection, and community during the colder, darker months. Through a mix of creative workshops, gentle outdoor activities, reflective gatherings, and social events, we create warm and welcoming spaces where people can slow down, connect with others, and find moments of calm. Sessions are offered on a pay-as-you-can basis, making them as accessible as possible, and all contributions go directly back into supporting Bloom Sheffield’s work with women across the city.
