A clay making & coaching workshop for women in perimenopause and menopause with Clare Anderson & Emma Brooks at Tonco Bakery.

We invite you to a gentle, grounding workshop designed especially for women navigating perimenopause and menopause. This is a welcoming space to slow down, get your hands into clay, and connect with other women who get it.

Menopause is not something to “get through” alone. It’s a life transition that deserves space, creativity, and shared understanding. This workshop offers a unique and interesting combination; creating with clay while listening to (and if you wish, participating in) a discussion about the perimenopause and menopause. It may sound like odd combination but actually we think it makes sense.

Manipulating clay is very therapeutic. It lowers cortisol and reduces stress and anxiety leading to a relaxed atmosphere and mindful state. Alongside this, coaching conversations will offer reflection, validation, and practical insights to support you through physical, emotional, and identity shifts.

You don’t need any experience of working with clay and you don’t need to contribute to the discussion if you would prefer to just listen - It is entirely up to you. It’s about honouring where you are, in the company of other women walking a similar path.

This workshop is about:

  • Coming together in shared experience
  • Feeling seen, heard, and supported
  • Reconnecting with yourself, your creativity and inner wisdom

Workshop agenda:

After an introduction you will be shown how to make a clay tumbler. Then we will have an open discussion whilst making. You will have the opportunity to ask questions (anonymously, if preferred) and if you wish to, you can share your own experiences. There will also be the opportunity for some 1:1 time with Emma who is a certified menopause coach.

This time of life can be very isolating for many women for all sorts of reasons. We hope that everyone will come away from this workshop feeling a little lighter as well as having a sense of accomplishment by creating something that can be used in the future as a reminder of all that you have taken from the workshop.

It must be noted that this is not about us giving scientific or health advice in any way. It is about a sharing of experiences from each other in a supportive and non-judgemental way.

Who are we?

We met when our sons started school. Being in a group of older mothers, playground discussions often focussed on juggling life, work and menopause. Emma works as a life coach and has a certificate in menopause coaching and Clare has a ceramics business and runs workshops.
