If you’ve ever wondered what volunteering with Blossome might be like, this is your invitation to come and experience it for yourself. You don’t need to know which role you want. You don’t need any special expertise. And you don’t need to make a commitment on the night. Just come along, meet us, spend some time with the people who already volunteer with Blossome and get a feel for the community you could become part of.

What to expect

The evening is part celebration, part open house.

We’ll begin by bringing our volunteer community together and celebrating the people who already give their time, care and energy to Blossome. You’ll hear a little about what Blossome does, the difference our volunteers make, and the different ways people can get involved.

Then the evening opens up so you can explore at your own pace.

You’ll be able to:

  • Meet current Blossome volunteers and hear what volunteering is really like.
  • Experience a Blossome activity rather than simply hearing us talk about what we do.
  • Discover our different volunteering opportunities, including activities such as Slow Stitching and Sunrise Dips.
  • Find out about Blooming Companions and the role they will play in helping people feel welcomed and connected.
  • Learn about our Self-Care caravan and the opportunities it will create for taking Blossome into communities.
  • Ask questions about volunteering, training, safeguarding, time commitments and what might suit you.
  • Enjoy free soft drinks and nibbles while you get to know people.

There will be no pressure to sign up for anything. If something catches your interest, we’ll show you what the next step looks like.

Who is it for?

This evening is for anyone curious about Blossome, whether you want to volunteer or not. Everyone else welcome.

You might already know you’d like to give some of your time. You might be looking for a way to meet people and contribute to your community. Or you might simply want to come along and find out what Blossome is all about. You might even just want to have a sneaky peak at our Tiny Travelling Sanctuary.

Come with a friend if that makes walking through the door easier, or come on your own. We’ll be there to welcome you.

You don’t need to be an expert. You just need to care.

Blossome is a compassionate self-care community for anyone affected by someone else’s drinking, drug use, gambling or addiction.

Our volunteers help us create places where people can feel supported, understood and know that they belong.

Reserve your free place

The evening is free to attend, but we’d love you to RSVP so we know how many people to expect.
