Join Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture, Watauga County Agricultural Extension, and Wildcat Compost for a workshop on organic soil fertility!
Having strong, healthy soil is the first step towards growing fantastic products. During this workshop, Richard Boylan of Watauga County Agricultural Extension will cover the basics of soil fertility, testing, and soil addition options. Kevin Gamble, owner and operator of Wildcat Compost, will present on methods for improving soil through methods like composting and compost tea, and vermicomposting, and his own experiences as a compost researcher and maker. This workshop is suitable for growers interested in pursuing organic certification, incorporating organic methods, or for anyone with a general interest in improving their soil organically.
