Join Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture and Kara Dodson at Full Moon Farm for a workshop on building Efficiency in Farming! 

Are you looking to expand your farm or garden but concerned about the time and effort required? Join Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture and Kara Dodson, the owner of Full Moon Farm, as we explore common obstacles to farm efficiency and practical solutions she has implemented. This workshop will feature demonstrations of essential tools like the Greens Harvester, Drop Seeder, and Paper Pot Planter, along with innovative homemade tools crafted from refurbished and repurposed items, such as a germination chamber made from an old refrigerator and a salad spinner created from an old washing machine.

Kara will also share valuable insights gained from her 8 years of experience running a diversified vegetable farm. This workshop is ideal for both novice and experienced farmers aiming to boost their yields while reducing labor.

Join us for a Potluck after the workshop! Bring a dish to share and join us for a potluck dinner at Full Moon. This is a great chance to connect with other Farmers and community members. 

What to expect: This is an outdoor, hands on workshop! Bring a water bottle and any snacks you might want. Ahead of the event, keep an eye on the weather and dress accordingly. There will be a potluck to follow from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, please bring a dish to share!

About the instructor and the farm: Kara owns and operates Full Moon Farm just outside of Boone. She and her husband started the produce farm in 2016 and it has grown to be a thriving business serving the High Country Food Hub, area restaurants, and local food banks. Prior to farming, her background is in community organizing to support clean energy and environmental justice. As a lifelong nature lover and human rights advocate, she is grateful for the opportunity to provide nourishing, organically grown vegetables and fruits to her community. She values the long line of ancestral guidance and all present relations that bring balance and healing to this vital work.
