About The Day

Experienced operators would say they run due diligence.

Fewer would be comfortable if another experienced operator were to watch them do it.

That gap, between the standard you know it should hit, and what actually happens under time pressure, mid-deal, with money waiting, is what this day is built around.

This is an interactive workshop with real case studies from active investors, developers and lenders. Not death by PowerPoint. Content-packed, stands alone as a one-day event.

The frameworks apply to deals, people, companies, lenders, borrowers and counterparties. They transfer to any business where money is on the line.

The Agenda

i) Due Diligence — the working framework Rod and Adam use, top to bottom

ii) Due diligence on potential business partners and suppliers

iii) Due Diligence on Deals — how we actually analyse them

iv) Lenders — what makes a good covenant in their eyes, and how to stay one

v) Borrowers — if you were lending your own money, how would you underwrite them

vi) The Health of Companies — what yours look like from the outside

vii) Liquidation, Administration, Receivership — running DD with limited time and incomplete information

viii) Credit Ratings — how they are built, and how they are used in practice

ix) Companies House — practical usage, extent of use, and where it stops being enough

x) Financial Promotions and the FCA — what to genuinely watch out for

xi) A live due diligence exercise on real individuals and companies, using the tools we use

BONUS: Open Q+A with Rod and Adam. No holds barred. No questions left unanswered.

Extra: Networking with the operators in the room, which, on this topic, tends to be the most senior room of the year.

Who This Is For

Deals that go wrong for experienced operators tend not to be due to the operator's carelessness. They go wrong because something got missed in the review.

This workshop is for the people who have been operating long enough to know that, and are honest enough to want to fix it before it costs them the next one.

Not for beginners.
