THURSDAY 7 OCTOBER 2027 · LONDON

Due Diligence

You're in the room if you recognise any of these:

- A partner or supplier you trusted without checking properly

- A deal where something got missed in the review

- A company you couldn't properly assess from the outside

- A lender or borrower you wouldn't underwrite the same way again

Adam Lawrence and Rod Turner:

- 1000+ UK property deals between them

- Eight figures of joint-venture funding deployed, portfolios they still hold.

Experienced operators would say they run due diligence. Fewer would be comfortable if another experienced operator watched them do it.

The Agenda

Part I · The framework

1. The framework we use

The working due diligence framework Rod and Adam use, top to bottom.

2. Partners and suppliers

Due diligence on potential business partners and suppliers.

3. How we analyse deals

Due diligence on deals, and how we actually analyse them.

Part II · Both sides of the money

4. Be the borrower lenders want

What makes a good covenant in a lender's eyes, and how to stay one.

5. Underwrite like it's your own money

If you were lending your own money, how would you underwrite the borrower?

6. Credit ratings, decoded

How they are built, and how they are used in practice.

Part III · Companies and red flags

7. What your company looks like from the outside

The health of companies, yours included.

8. Liquidation, administration, receivership

Running due diligence with limited time and incomplete information.

9. Where Companies House stops

Practical usage, extent of use, and where it stops being enough.

10. Financial promotions and the FCA

What to watch out for.

11. Live exercise: due diligence on real people and companies

Using the tools we use, in the room.

Bonus: Open Q&A with Rod and Adam. No holds barred, no questions left unanswered.

Who This Is For: Deals that go wrong for experienced operators tend not to be due to carelessness. They go wrong because something got missed in the review. This workshop is for people who have been operating long enough to know that, and want to fix it before it costs them the next one. Not for beginners.
