We are pleased to announce that Bold Green Strategies are able to support UVL members sustainability journeys by offering Carbon Literacy Training.

Bold Green Strategies are a full-service sustainability consultancy working with luxury events teams in and around London. They assist businesses and and organisations with Net Zero, annual Impact Reports, training, and certifications.

This course is accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project. Successful learners will be certified Carbon Literate.

Sustainability is a complex topic, and being able to confidently understand and communicate is key to the success of in-house policies and projects, as well as a consideration when interacting with clients or customers; climate change and greenwashing are both very real risks to business.

We use the Carbon Literacy Project framework to upskill teams quickly and keep the conversation moving forwards.

The Project is globally unique and was recognised by the UN at COP21 where it was awarded as a TAP100, one of 100 worldwide Transformative Action Programs.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Who is this course for?

This training day is exclusively for UVL (Unique Venues of London) members. Carbon Literacy for Catering, Hospitality, and Events Professionals is great for teams working in catering, event production, planning, agencies, trade publications, festival organisers, restaurants, and venues. Contact us if you're not sure!

Where?

This is an in person training event. The host venue is Somerset House. Attendees can arrive from 9.30am, 30 minutes earlier than the advertised start time to get settled.

Do I need to prepare for the course?

We will email you 7 days before the course with some tasks that will need to be completed before attending. This includes watching a documentary and using a tool to calculate your personal carbon footprint.

How do I become certified as Carbon Literate?

Learners will make 2 pledges to reflect what they have learned on the course. We will send out an email on the day following the course with a Google Form link for learners to submit their pledges, along with some helpful slides and resources. 

The deadline will be 10 days after the training, or the first Monday after if this falls on a weekend. We can usually answer any queries in the first couple of days after the course. We strongly advise getting any questions to us early so we can support you as best we can. 

Pledges will be submitted to the Carbon Literacy Project, who will then mark the pledges and issue certificates to successful learners. We will be in touch with certificates or feedback. This is usually within a month of submitting pledges. 

The course price includes submission for certification. 

Will there be lunch + refreshments?

Tea, coffee, and water will be available. Learners will make their own lunch arrangements. There will be comfort breaks built into the day.

How can I pay?

We have a Stripe option at checkout. 

If you don't have access to a company card, you can email us hello@boldgreenstrategies.com so we can raise an invoice for the training with your Accounts Department, or share our account details for an instant bank transfer. This option is available up to 30 days before the event, and must be settled before attending. 

What is the ticket fee breakdown?

Tickets are £185pp (excl. VAT, incl. booking fee + certification fee).

Ticket Tailor charges booking fees £0.60 per ticket. The payment processor fees are £2.98.

Certificate fees will be paid by BGS directly to The Carbon Literacy Trust, on behalf of the learner. These are £15pp. Registered Charity No: 1156722

2 free tickets are available to the hosting venue. 

Cancellations + Refunds

Bold Green Strategies reserves the right to cancel at any time and will offer a full refund.

Bold Green Strategies have a no-refund policy for cancellations within 7 days of the event. We can offer a rescheduled event if there is one available, and there is capacity.

1 ticket is required for each learner wishing to attend the training.
