Professor Abraham Van Helsing, an expert in the supernatural, presents his most terrifying case as he is called in to help a young woman who becomes mysteriously ill during a trip to Whitby. Has Lucy Westenra contracted some rare disease or has she fallen victim to something more evil? And what has become of her best friend Mina’s fiancé Jonathan Harker after he was sent to the Carpathian mountains to oversee the purchase of a London house by the sinister Count Dracula?
British Touring Shakespeare bring their renowned strengths of energy and accessibility to a brand new adaptation of this classic gothic horror tale which will make for an unforgettable afternoon of open air theatre.
This play contains adult themes which some younger children may find scary so parental discretion is advised.
Since 1999, British Touring Shakespeare have delighted audiences around the world and become synonymous with the very best in open air theatre.
In 2020, they were one of the first theatre companies to stage live performances during the recovery from the pandemic at socially distanced outdoor venues with their outstanding tour of The Two Gentlemen Of Verona, and they continued to do so last year with both their hilarious production of Twelfth Night and an innovative adaptation of the classic Sherlock Holmes mystery The Hound Of The Baskervilles which were both performed at the opening weekend of Bolton Gate Arts in September 2021.
With this year’s tour of Dracula and The Merry Wives Of Windsor, they are delighted to once again help ensure that the magic of open air theatre is a British tradition that people can continue to enjoy.
