PLEASE CLICK HERE TO READ THE BWOAS PRIVACY POLICY

1. Adult participants must acknowledge that they are responsible for their own actions, safety, wellbeing and personal property, and are equally responsible for and have a duty of care over any accompanying children and young people under the age of eighteen at ALL TIMES during an activity.

2. The walking group has sports club insurance with Protectivity to cover against personal injury and damage/loss of personal property. In attending any advertised activity, participants, parents and guardians should fully understand that Bolton Walking and Outdoors Appreciation Society is collectively devised and operated by multiple volunteers who give up their free time to assist in organisation, managing the group and navigating during activities, with advice delivered on a peer to peer basis. By taking part, participants, parents and guardians acknowledge that walking outdoors presents risks that may lead to accidents or damage/loss to personal property and that it is the individual responsibility of participants, parents and guardians to be observant of their surroundings and any hazards. Volunteers CANNOT be held personally responsible or otherwise liable for any accidents, damage/loss to personal property or any emergency medical care that may be required in the event of an accident.

3. For those who require important personal medication, including asthma inhalers, autoimmune injector pens and and other routine products that are relied upon on a regular basis, personal medication MUST be carried during each activity and, where appropriate, a volunteer should be discreetly told of the whereabouts of any such items in the event of an emergency. This includes asthma inhalers and autoinjector pens. Participants must read all advertised information available and be sure that they are fit and well enough to attend an activity. THE ABOVE STIPULATIONS ARE WHOLLY THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARTICIPANT OR RESPONSIBLE PARENT OR GUARDIAN OR A CHILD IN THEIR CARE UNDER THE AGE OF EIGHTEEN.

4. Volunteers and other experienced group members may offer advice during the activity with the best interest of participants and other volunteers at heart, but it should be understood that this IS NOT PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE from trained instructors. Participants are requested to heed any advice given with the understanding that any such directions are made while considering the best interests of the group. If any participants (or parents/guardians) do not agree with the judgement of a volunteer, a counter opinion should be voiced immediately with safety of all participants and volunteers in mind.

5. Anybody taking part in a BWOAS walk should be aware that participants and volunteers in the group will capture images and video clips that WILL then be shared online via social media. Participants are welcomed to send such images to BWOAS to share on the walking group social media and other online platforms.
