Gael, Charli, and Connor's Song Interpretation - 10:00am to 12:00pm
In this song interpretation workshop, we will play around and analyze a piece through practice. Each attendee will perform their song and will receive feedback to discover new aspects of their piece and learn tools that can be applied to future songs.
For this workshop, you will need to bring one musical theater song with an instrumental track. You should be familiar with or have memorized the song you bring! The more off-book you are, the more we can experiment. Please bring sheet music if you have it!
Matthew's Improv for Human Development and the Stage - 1:00pm to 3:00pm
Improv for Human Development and the Stage - The drama class is much more than a place to develop acting skills and performance. More than any other subject, drama is a place for the development of the whole person to their full capacity. Post-COVID, we see increasing levels of anxiety and apprehension - a lack of ability to be vulnerable and put yourself out there. This workshop will focus on the fundamentals of improvised drama leading to a fluidity of character development, movement, problem solving, and creative thinking. The skills developed in this workshop are applicable to all aspects of life, breaking down and moving beyond that anxiety and apprehension, and fully transferable to the stage and the applications of improv as performance or as a problem solving tool.
