Boomerang Woodworking is a community-driven workshop located in Maryhill, Glasgow. Our workshop is a place where knowledge is shared, skills are learnt, and ideas come to life. Sustainability is at the centre of everything we do, from reclaiming materials from the waste stream and upcycling and repairing furniture to educating others in the value of sustainable woodworking.
Starting out as a mental health recovery furniture project in 2001, Boomerang has remained a community-focused project with a mission to improve mental wellbeing, reduce social isolation and increase skills in woodwork.
Did we mention? We work mostly with wood from the waste stream, wood that would otherwise end up in landfill, and we turn it into furniture, planters and raised beds, decorations, earrings, keyrings and more. We partner with local charities and non-profits to produce wooden items and teach people practical woodworking and DIY skills along the way.
So whether you're a seasoned woodworker or just getting started, you'll find a welcoming space at Boomerang to explore your craft.
