Bonnie Walk - Polkemmet Country Park, West Lothian

This walk will be led by a trainer Boots & Beards walk leader alongside stewards who will ensure the groups safety during this excursion.

Polkemmet Country Park is a popular 68 hectare (168 acre) visitor attraction near Whitburn. The Park offers beautiful woodland and riverside walks, play area and picnic areas with seating. West Lothian Leisure operate the golf course, driving range and Visitor Centre within the Park.

As the historic home of the Baillie family, Polkemmet was once a thriving estate which boasted the grand Polkemmet House and amenities including stables, tennis courts and a golf course. In the last hundred years, the estate has been utilised for many different things, including for the war effort, and as a home for the Trefoil School. The Country Park was opened in 1981, and remnants of Polkemmet's rich history can still be seen in the Park today. The River Almond runs through the entire length of the Park and there are over 6.5km of trails, including the Blue and Red waymarked routes.

Please ensure you conduct your own research prior to attending this walk.  This walk is flat and suitable for beginners and there is access to a cafe and facilities to enjoy teas/ coffees.

• Arrive at meeting point (Super Soccer, 33 Scotland Street, Glasgow, G5 8NB) at 8:45 am
• Minibus departs from Super Soccer promptly at 9.00 am
• Arrive on walking site at 10.00 am

• Comfortable walking shoes
• Comfortable loose clothing (breathable, waterproofs)
• Snacks, healthy lunch and water
• Any medication (if applicable)
