We will be joined by 4 female business leaders who will give their individual perspectives. Providing attendees opportunities to ask questions and gain wisdom from the panelists and network with other entrepreneurs. Attendees enjoy a cocktail and light bites while will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain wisdom from the panelists and network with other entrepreneurs.
Fifty percent of the proceeds for the event will go to support the students of Miami Dade County Public Schools through STEM scholarships. These scholarships will allow students to go through computer science, technology, engineering, digital media, and CTE (career and technical education) programming at their schools. These programs will provide them opportunities to attend national competitions, compete for national awards, post secondary scholarships, and prepare them for paid student internships and apprenticeships.
About the Panelists
Kwamara Thompson
Kwamara is a powerful movement that is driven by the initiative "I am a Black Woman, Yes I
Matter." The organization is dedicated to promoting sistahood and building community among
Black women through various means such as angel investing, education, creating platforms, and more. One of the main goals of Kwamara is to empower Black women to become leaders in their communities and beyond. Through education and training, Kwamara aims to provide Black
women with the tools they need to succeed in all aspects of their lives.The organization also encourages Black women to support one another and build strong, positive relationships with each other. By creating a sense of sisterhood, the social movement fosters a culture of unity and collaboration among Black women.
Another important aspect of Kwamara is angel investing. The organization provides resources and support to Black women who are interested in investing in startups and other businesses. By helping Black women become investors, Kwamara aims to increase the representation of Black women in the world of business and finance.
In addition, Kwamara is dedicated to creating platforms that amplify the voices of Black women.
Through social media, events, and other initiatives, the organization strives to showcase the diverse perspectives and experiences of Black women and raise awareness about the challenges they face.
Megan Fitzpatrick
Megan always knew she wanted to be a teacher. This passion solidified when her high school Math teacher changed her life. When Megan was 16 she tragically lost her mom and it was her 10th Grade Math teacher, Ms. Carmenate simply asked: "How are you doing?" Megan then realized how important teachers could be for their students. After 8 years in the classroom she founded The Fitz Solution and took the leap of full time business ownership. In 2019 she curated, The Ultimate Selfie. This signature program is designed to empower teens to confidently answer the question: "What's Next?" She works with teens to define their strengths, values, and passions to create a guide for after high school. In addition to running The Fitz Solution, Megan is the CEO of Studlytics, a EdTech platform designed to help students create positive study skills while learning online. This software helps students to see how and where to best support their learning through positive psychology and gamification.
Megan is also a community leader with many different organizations throughout South Florida. She is an Educational Ambassador for Web3Equity, working to on board more women into WEB3. A mentor for Women of Tomorrow, empowering young high school girls both personally and professionally to achieve their goals. She has traveled all over the world with some of her favorite destinations being Haiti, Amazon Rainforest and Bali. Immersing herself in different cultures and societies is a key component to how she runs her businesses. Being an advocate and an educational champion for those that need it most. Her 2023 mantra is “Align and Achieve”
Jessyka Castillo
Entrepreneurial, creative young professional and graduate of The George Washington
University's Engineering Management Master’s program with dedicated work experience in the
public and private sectors. As a trained systems engineer, Jessyka has served as a product manager, cloud engineer, business development lead, market intelligence research analyst, customer experience analyst, Sr. Leadership Advisor on DEIA in Technology and most recently Chief of Staff for the Market Development & Partnerships Division at U.S. General Services Administration (GSA)’s Technology Transformation Services.
With over 15 years of professional experience dedicated to building and executing strategic marketing and communication deliverables as a lifestyle and entertainment publicist, Jessyka has developed a niche in consumer + community engagement, product development + launch, as well as representation and management for C-suite/ A-suite/ notable and influential persons. She holds a bachelors in communications with a concentration in hospitality studies and event management from the Florida International University.
Jessyka is passionate about building pipeline programs and exposure opportunities for underrepresented groups in Tech. She is the Miami Chapter lead for Black Women Talk Tech and dedicates a significant amount of her time speaking on panels and supporting events for a variety
of organizations fostering minorities in STEM. As an AfroLatina, Jessyka knows first hand how necessary representation is for all persons in the technology space.
Most recently, Jessyka launched Fitness + Financial Gains, Inc. where she hosts a community of South Florida locals for weekly events concentrated rooted in health consciousness and socioeconomic networking. Currently in its fourth season, Fitness + Financial Gains has expanded on a city tour, hosting events in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles.

Sandy Fernandez
Often referred to as the “Money Angel” Sandy Fernandez
is an Author, Financial Consultant, Clairvoyant, and energetic lightworker. As the President and Founder
of Karmic Currency Sandy teaches “the energy behind business and finance”. For over 20 years Sandy worked in the Financial Services
Industry. With hard work and a talent for intuitive finance, Sandy not only brought success to herself but also to those that sought her services and advice.
As Vice President, she and her team held $90mm under her portfolio management. Sandy’s leadership, communication and strong sales talents proved she was a force to be reckoned with. In fact, Sandy was often reprimanded for being a “maverick” for frequently challenging the corporate status quo.
In 2017 Sandy was let go from her high profile position and turned “You’re fired” into “Fired up” by leveraging her professional skills and finally taking her own financial advice!
Sandy tapped into her entrepreneurial spirit and her inborn courage to take on challenges with the same finesse that had come to define her
career, and her life.
