Online, Zoom
Description
***You can book right up until 0800 of the day of the event***
This is the sixth year of the BSBI Aquatic Plant Project which aims to improve aquatic plant identification skills and increase recording across Ireland. Last year we held a webinar on the identification of stringy-leaved and feathery-leaved aquatic plants by aquatic plant expert Nick Stewart. We are pleased to announce that Nick has agreed to continue the series, and following on from last year's talks he is going to discuss the identification of floating-leaved aquatic plants. This will be delivered in two parts: the first about large-leaved species (waterlilies, floating pondweeds, frogbit etc) for around 30 minutes, and then after some questions, there will be a second talk on small free-floating species, principally duckweeds, water fern etc.
The webinar is free and the Aquatic Plant Project has been kindly funded by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS). Everyone interested is very welcome, whether based in Ireland, Britain or elsewhere.
Timing
The webinar will begin at 10.00 prompt. We'd love to hear your questions which can be typed into Zoom's chat feature and will be put to the speaker after his talk by the chair. The timings below are indicative only and may vary.
