Annual Summer Meeting 2026, and Wales Annual Meeting & AGM 2026
Please note that the dates and location for this meeting have changed since it was originally advertised.
Join us for the BSBI's Annual Summer Meeting, and the Wales Annual Meeting & AGM combined event!
The 2026 ASM will be a memorable meeting that includes several field excursions that take in a range of different habitats. The report on the 2019 Welsh AGM gives a flavour of what we might expect.
The programme is yet to be confirmed, but we hope to include some workshops, and field excursions to the following potential locations:
- Local dune system on the urban fringe
- National Botanic Garden of Wales
- WWT Penclacwydd
- Gower (led by Barry Stewart)
- Wildflower nursery (led by Barry Stewart)
- Revisit Capel Dyddgen SSSI
- Ffrwd Fen SSSI
- Pembrey Burrows LNR SSSI
- Mynydd Du INCC land
- Millennium Coastal Park, e.g. Burry Port and Pwll Lagoon
- Urban sites
- Square bashing
Details of accessibility (terrain and duration/distance) and facilities available (toilets, car parking etc) for each excursion will be given in the description when participants are asked to sign-up for the excursions they wish to attend. The number of participants attending each excursion will be limited. Lists of excursions will most likely be presented to participants on the day, and will be on a first come, first served basis.
There will be a bring-and-buy book stall for any participants who have botanical books they wish to pass on to others, and also a 'Help' table for any problem specimens that any experts in attendance could be asked to look at.
What to bring
- Stout shoes / waterproofs
- Suncream / hat
- Hand lens / ID guides
- Packed lunches (if not staying at hotel)
