Scottish Outreach: Winter Twigs Workshop
This Workshop reverses the usual format. After a brief introductory session to become familiar with some of the necessary vocabulary, we begin with a fieldwork session, looking at many known species and learning how they present in winter.
Then we retreat to the classroom to examine specimens of winter twigs and study ‘keys in reverse’.
Our resource booklet is “Winter Trees: A photographic guide to common trees and shrubs” by Dominic Price and Leif Bersweden (Field Studies Council) and participants will receive a free copy at the start of the day.
Bring camera, notebook and hand lens - and dress up warm! This workshop is run by Michael Philip and the West Central Scotland Botany Network.
Cost: £30 for non-BSBI members, £15 for BSBI members and students.
Places are limited - so book early to avoid disappointment!
Although we doo hope to run this workshop again in the future.
