Irish Events: Lurgabrack Nature Reserve, Dunfanaghy, Co. Donegal
Explore the unique sand dune and machair habitats at Lurgybrack Nature Reserve: this site visit will focus on current conservation efforts and the identification of specialised machair flora. The terrain is suitable for all abilities, but will include some higher parts of the dune system.
Key species you may encounter include various orchids, Galium verum (Lady's Bedstraw), Lotus corniculatus (Bird's-foot Trefoil), Anthyllis vulneraria (Kidney Vetch), Trifolium pratense (Red Clover) and Campanula rotundifolia (Harebell).
