Beginner Botany Walk - Sidmouth

This is event is part of a suite of events, offered by BSBI members as part of the 100 Plants in 2026 Challenge. Participants will have the opportunity to meet other botanists, and learn some common plants, while taking an informal beginner-focused walk.
These are events are open to any beginner botanists; you do not need to be taking part in the 100 Plants Challenge to attend.

Contingency plan (in case of bad weather): In the event of poor weather the event will be postponed for 2 weeks to 20th. Participants will be contacted the day before if the forecast looks poor. You are welcome to contact the organiser on the morning if it looks doubtful.
Expected terrain: Equivalent to a walk in a country park. Most of the day will be on good paths or uncut meadow but the pasture will be walking among many ant hills.
Expected required fitness level: There is a short uphill walk to the site but nothing strenuous.
