Irish Grasslands Project: Tramore dunes and salt marsh, Waterford

This event is part of the Irish Grasslands Project funded by the National Parks and Wildlife Service to enhance botanical skills and raise awareness of grasslands across Ireland.

Description: This is a beginners' grassland event and is suitable for those with little or no botanical experience. The sand dunes and salt meadows along Tramore Strand are designated as Special Areas of Conservation (SAC). These coastal grasslands are home to many common and rare species including the beautiful Lax-flowered Sea-Lavendar. We will explore the pathway that lies between the low dune habitat and salt-marsh, identifying plants along the way.

Bring: Packed lunch, comfortable walking shoes or boots, sun cream, rain coat. Hand lens if you have one (but not necessary.)
