Scotland AGM 2026

All BSBI members in Scotland (and Vice-County Recorders of Scottish vice-counties) are invited to attend the Scotland Annual General Meeting (AGM), being held online for the first time in 2026.

The Committee for Scotland have made the decision to split this event from the Scottish Botanists’ Conference 2026 (7 November), to allow more time at the conference to network and enjoy the exhibitions, and also to allow more members in Scotland to attend the AGM online.

The AGM includes a talk afterwards from James Harding-Morris, BSBI Countries Manager: Endemic: Exploring the Wildlife Unique to Britain.
Did you know that Britain is home to hundreds of species that exist nowhere else on Earth? From the exquisite Scottish Primrose on the maritime turf of northern Scotland to the critically endangered Catacol Whitebeam unique to the Isle of Arran, our young islands boast a surprisingly rich array of unique species. This online talk will draw on James's book Endemic to share the fascinating and sometimes tragic stories of these irreplaceable species, with special reference to the unique wildlife of Scotland.
