Botanical Skills NI: Geodiversity and geoconservation in Northern Ireland, with a plant on top

Join us online for the Botanical Skills Northern Ireland Project as Michael Dempster from the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) provides an engaging introduction to the region's rich geodiversity. 

Geodiversity is biodiversity’s silent partner, holding intrinsic value, recording Earth's history, and offering vital clues to our planet's future. In this session, Michael will explore how and why Northern Ireland conserves its geology through measures like Areas of Special Scientific Interest (ASSIs), while highlighting the inextricable link between geo- and biodiversity using a North Antrim priority species as a case study.
