Botanical Skills NI: The First Signs of Spring

Winter can feel long, so why not spend an evening looking forward to spring? Join Jo Mulholland and Dean McCullough, BSBI Northern Ireland Training Officers with the Botanical Skills Northern Ireland Project, as they explore the first botanical signs of the season.

In this beginner-friendly webinar, you'll find out what triggers plants to germinate and burst into bud in the earliest months of the year. You'll also learn how to identify and record these early arrivals, and how comparing first flowering dates with those from previous years helps us monitor climate change.

Whether you're new to botany or simply want an excuse to escape the dark nights and cold weather, this is a lovely way to look ahead to the cheerful sights of spring flowers.
