BSBI Scottish Spring Conference in Aberdeen

BSBI Scottish Spring Conference in Aberdeen

Fri 12 Apr 2019 10:15 AM - 4:15 PM BST

RSPB Offices, 10 Albyn Terrace, Aberdeen, AB10 1YP

Description

We are planning two one-day Recording Conferences on Thursday 11 April at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and on Friday the 12 April at RSPB Aberdeen Offices. The same programme will be repeated (more or less) so folk can choose whichever is easier to travel to. Or you can come to both!

The aim of the Conference is to help Recorders and members with Atlas 2020 and give them a chance to meet up and discuss issues both formally and informally.  The theme is, of course, Atlas 2020 and the program will include an update on the project, what Recorders are planning to do in its final year and how members can help.  There will also be a variety of short talks and a discussion on post-Atlas activities.

County Recorders and everyone interested are welcome!  You would be very welcome to give a short 5-10 min talk of interest to fellow botanists (on botanical projects, surveys, groups, or planned publications).  If you would like to offer a talk please give its title when booking.

There is no charge for the event but numbers are limited (because of the size of the meeting room that RSPB are kindly providing).   We will provide teas, coffees & biscuits but lunch is NOT included and it would be best to bring your own packed lunch.

If possible, it is best to travel by public transport as there is no visitor parking at the RSPB offices and on-street is not free. The offices are a 25 minute walk from the Aberdeen Railway station and there are regular buses.   Information on buses.   Information on street parking. (If parking on street you will need to go out at lunchtime to feed meters.)

Book your place now!
