BSBI Birks o' Aberfeldy Field Meeting I
Sat 16 May 2020 10:15 AM - 3:30 PM BST
Birks o' Aberfeldy car park
Description
The first of two one-day meetings to explore this rich and fascinating gorge woodland immortalised by Rabbie Burns in his song, The Birks O’ Aberfeldy, in which he waxes lyrical about this famous beauty spot and its flowers! The emphasis of this field meeting will be on learning and we particularly welcome anyone who has not been on a BSBI field meeting before. In this first meeting we will be looking for spring woodland plants such as Adoxa moschatellina (Moschatel), Lathraea squamaria (Toothwort) and Equisetum pratense (Shady Horsetail). A later visit on the 26 July will look for later flowering species. A reasonable level of fitness, waterproofs, strong shoes and a packed lunch will be required.
More information soon... But if you are interested please book your place now!
