BSBI England Annual Meeting
Sun 27 Feb 2022 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM GMT
Online, Zoom
Description
The England Annual Meeting will take place by Zoom webinar on Sunday, February 27 at 2pm. It will include the AGM and a supporting programme of talks. All members normally resident in England, the Channel Islands and Isle of Man are invited to attend and vote in the AGM, though all botanists are welcome to attend.
Programme
The meeting will begin with a short AGM. The agenda, minutes of the last AGM and other supporting documents, together with the full programme of talks will be on the England Annual Meeting web page from mid February. There will be three short talks following the AGM on: the conservation of Juniper (Matt Pitts, Plantlife), Introductory botany (Chris/Hazel Metherell) and how to enthuse recording groups (Michael Philip). There will then be a tea break, followed by the Chair’s Address on “How I became a botanist: a journey from North Wales to Cambridge and the Antarctic”. The meeting will close about 16:30pm.
Charges
Registration is essential but there is no fee. However we would be delighted if you would make an donation to help with our organisation and administrative costs. The donation is entirely optional - you can edit the suggested amount and replace it with anything from £0 to £100 or more!
Country Constitutions
The Trustees have suggested some changes to the Country Constitutions in order to make some of their provisions more similar to those of the Board and Standing Committees. These have been discussed by the Committee for England and our amended paragraphs are shown in the AGM documentation. Such changes require consultation with members; if possible, do send any views to the Chair in advance of the meeting, so that the AGM remains as short as possible, by emailing jdsh@bas.ac.uk
