Taking Water for Granted

With a summer of heat waves, drought and many wildfires, plus the ever-present threat of flooding in Bradford on Avon, 3 expert speakers will help us understand the water supply in our town - looking at where our water comes from, how we can keep it clean and how we can save it and become more resilient.

Doors open at 6.30pm. Speakers start at 7pm.

About our 3 speakers:

Danny O’Callaghan
Danny has lived in Bradford on Avon for 14 years. He understands the landscape of Bradford on Avon and surrounding villages, and how water moves through the area. 

He is a Community Emergency Volunteer and a volunteer Flood Warden. He is passionate about water as a resource and our need to think and act more sustainably.

Rachel Berger
Rachel's career encompassed a range of environment-focused work, latterly on the impact of climate change on developing countries affected by severe floods and droughts. 

Since moving to Bradford on Avon she has been actively involved with Climate Friendly BoA, serving as chair for five years and she is a Community Emergency Volunteer. 

She recently undertook a course in Water Literacy organised by Waterwise which has made her acutely aware of water as a resource to be valued more. Building our town's resilience to the impacts of climate change is now a key focus for her energy.

Paul Saynor, Wessex Water
Paul works as Water Supply Technical Director for Wessex Water. He is a chartered water and environmental leader with over 32 years of experience in the water sector, specialising in water resources and operational management.
