Start Archery Week Archery Have-a-Go 10 May 2025
A FREE 30-minute have-a-go session for anyone who is interested in trying archery!
Each session will be lead by a member of our team of coaches, who will choose the right equipment for you and introduce you to shooting safely and comfortably on an archery.
All the equipment you need will be provided and there is parking available at the venue, along with toilet facilities. There will be drinks and refreshments available, as well as other games and activities for participants and other visitors to try.
The session will take place at our range behind Blake House Craft Centre, Blake End, Rayne, Braintree CM77 6SH.
To find us, turn into the main car park and follow the track past the craft centre buildings, the mini-golf and play area, and you will see the field on the left. The entrance is through the gate at the top of the track near the trees and parking is available on either side of the track when the weather is dry.
The field is open with little cover, so we recommend dressing for the weather. If it is warm, we would advise a hat, sun glasses and sun cream, and if it is cooler, we recommend wearing several closer-fitting layers without tassels or toggles rather than a single large coat as it is harder to shoot in. Whatever the weather, please wear flat shoes with closed toes. Any piercings above the waist (excluding ear studs) should be removed or secured with medical tape (even if they are under clothing).
We want everyone to get the most out of their have-a-go session, so if you have any particular requirements or would like to discuss any aspect of the session beforehand, please contact the event organiser.
