A fundraising evening for Brain Tumour Research and Hector's House. Starring 'Brave Rival'.
Fri 31 Jan 2025 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Civic Centre, Berkhamsted, HP4 3HD
Description
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. This is not acceptable!
On Friday 31st January 2025 we are holding a charity fundraising evening featuring Brave Rival, one of the most exciting blues rock bands in the UK. There'll also be prize draws, guest appearances and other surprises, all to raise money for brain tumour research and Berkhamsted-based charity, Hector's House.
Brave Rival has been wowing audiences across the UK and Europe, steadily building a following on the back of rave reviews for their live performances and three critically acclaimed albums. To get a taste of where they are coming from, think Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, and more than a dash of Aretha Franklin.
"..What (the new album) shows is a band ready to headline arenas in the next five to ten years.." (Powerplay Magazine)
" ..Brave Rival is not like the other bands; they're better. Listen loudly.." (Rock and Blues Muse)
Whether you buy a ticket or make a donation (we would love you to do both…), you will be helping to find a cure for a disease that shatters lives and often leave scars that can lead to a lifetime battling physical and mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression and social isolation.
We are also supporting local charity, Hector's House, an organisation that plays a vital role in promoting mental well-being in Herts, Bucks and Beds. Set up by the family of Hector Stringer, who took his own life at just 18 years old, their mission is '... to prevent suicide by ensuring everyone has access to the mental health services, and to encourage people to talk openly about how they feel through education, awareness and support.'
Hector’s love for music was all consuming, he was talented musician and performer. He played guitar and sang. He was in a band and they would often perform in pubs and gigs – he loved it.
It will be a night to remember, with a big prize raffle draw and special guest speakers. With your support, it will be an evening where you helped to make a difference.
Tickets will only be available in advance of the event, so it's important to book early. To reserve a table (for up to 10 people or smaller groups), please contact the organiser by scrolling to the bottom of this page.
As well as reserving your ticket, you may also wish to also make a donation by clicking on the 'Just Giving' site that is linked to the event.
PLEASE NOTE THAT OWING TO AN UNFORESEEN EVENT, WE HAVE HAD TO CHANGE THE DATE FROM FRIDAY 17TH JANUARY 2025 TO FRIDAY 31ST JANUARY 2025
