『農民』が世界へ旅立つ。ポーランドで数千人もの観客を魅了したこの公演が、大阪の地に上陸。

このユニークな音楽とダンスの超大作は、ポーランドのワルシャワとヴロツワフでの大成功に続き、2025年9月4日に大阪の著名なサンケイホールブリーゼで上演されます。日本初の上演となるこの特別なイベントは、映画『農民（原題：Chłopi）』 （監督：DK・ウェルチマン、ヒュー・ウェルチマン）と、ワルデマル・レイモンタンの傑作文学『農民』の両方からインスパイアされた、観客を魅了する世界へと誘います。

「Peasants Dance in Osaka」は、19世紀の絵画が現代の照明で蘇り、民謡がエレクトロニクスと融合し、伝統的なダンスが現代のパフォーマンスを通じて新たに昇華される、芸術的な旅です。この壮観なショーは、世界中の観客にも理解されやすく親しみやすい内容で、文化遺産と現代的な表現形式のユニークな融合を体現しています。

この作品のインスピレーションは、2023年に制作された受賞作映画『農民』で、映画『ゴッホ　最期の手紙』で広く知られることとなった独自の絵画アニメーション技術が採用されています。『農民』は数多くの名誉ある賞を受賞し、L.U.CことL.U.C.ことウカシュ・ロストコフスキが作曲したそのサウンドトラックは、わずか3ヶ月でプラチナディスクのステータスを獲得しました。

「Peasants Dance in Osaka」は2024年10月、ワルシャワのCOS Torwarで初演され、約5000人の観客を動員しました。2回目の公演は2025年3月29日、ヴロツワフのHala Stuleciaで開催され、再び熱烈な歓迎を受けました。大阪・関西万博を記念し、BreakThru Showはサンケイホールブリーゼのコンパクトな会場に合わせ、特別にアレンジされたショー「農民を踊ろう Remixed」を企画しました。そして9月4日、大阪の素晴らしい会場で、Rebel Babel Film Orchestraのメンバー、スタニスワフ・ハディナ記念ポーランド国立民族合唱舞踊団『シロンスク』、アンナ・スウコフスカ⁼ミゴンが指揮する国立フィルハーモニー管弦楽団の音楽家、そしてピョートル・スタネック、 オルガ・ブリー、ジョルジ・プチャルスキー、アネタ・ヤンコフスカがダニエラ・コメデラの指導のもとで出演します。

イベントの締めくくりとして、ポーランドのアーティストがデザインし、日本のアート企業であるWALLSHAREとの協力で制作される象徴的な壁画が完成します。この壁画は、異文化間の対話と共通の芸術的感性の永続的な象徴となるでしょう。

イベントのパートナーはポーランド投資・貿易庁です。このイベントはポーランド共和国文化・国家遺産大臣文化振興基金から助成を受けています。

Peasants – Dance: A powerful collision of Slavic tradition and modern performance is coming to Japan

Peasants – Dance is a bold and electrifying celebration of Poland’s rich folk culture, where centuries-old Slavic music and dance traditions are brought vividly to life through 21st-century performance, electronic soundscapes, and cutting-edge visual design. On September 4th, this modern Slavic spectacle will make its highly anticipated international debut in Osaka, at the renowned Sankei Hall Breeze, as part of the cultural program accompanying Expo 2025.

The production draws inspiration from the acclaimed animated film “The Peasants” (2023, directed by DK and Hugh Welchman) and Władysław Reymont’s Nobel Prize-winning novel, creating a multi-sensory experience where painted visuals come to life, folk instruments blend with electronic beats, and traditional dances are reinterpreted through cutting-edge choreography and immersive design.

Having impressed audiences in major Polish cities — Warsaw and Wrocław — the show has been reimagined especially for Sankei Hall Breeze as part of the cultural program accompanying Expo in Japan. This intimate, powerful performance brings together outstanding Polish artists: musicians from the Rebel Babel Film Orchestra, members of the iconic Śląsk Song and Dance Ensemble, instrumentalists from the National Philharmonic in Warsaw conducted by Anna Sułkowska-Migoń, and celebrated dancers: Piotr Stanek, Olga Bury, Giorgij Puchalski, and Aneta Jankowska, under the creative direction of Daniela Komędera.

The soundscape of Peasants – Dance Remixed is built around the platinum-certified soundtrack of The Peasants, composed by L.U.C., and honored with multiple prestigious awards including the Polish Film Award (Orzeł), Fryderyk, and Onet's Olśnienie. The show translates the emotional and artistic depth of the film into a live, visceral experience that speaks across cultures.

In a gesture of lasting artistic dialogue, the visit to Osaka will also include the creation of a collaborative mural, designed by a Polish visual artist and realized in partnership with the Japanese collective WALLSHARE. The mural will stand as a symbol of shared creativity and cultural exchange between Poland and Japan.
