This event has been created as a space for you to breathe, a Sunday morning to connect to yourself and to be held as the energy of the Earth shifts.
The Autumn Equinox marks a natural point of balance between light and dark, doing and resting, movement and introspection. It invites us to pause and reflect on our inner and outer lives, and to acknowledge all that we have received since setting intentions earlier in the year, or over the previous year.
This is an opportunity to connect deeply to your body, to honour where you are, ground yourself and release anything in your life that doesn't align with your growth.
What happens at the event?
At the start of the session I'll guide you to check in with how you are feeling in that moment. Using breath (pranayama) as a guide, it'll be a time for you to reflect, to notice how you feel and what you might like to shift. I will invite you to set intentions privately whilst we hold a ceremony space to welcome the Autumn Equinox. Following this, I will guide you on a Conscious Connected Breathwork journey to connect deeply with yourself, in mind, body and spirit. At the end of the breathwork, you will relax into a deep state of peace and harmony, integrating your breathwork journey.
Practices you will try
1. Pranayama: Breathing techniques to strengthen the connection between your body and mind.
2. Conscious Connected Breathwork: A circular breathing technique where the inhales are immediately followed by exhales without pause. When maintained for 40 minutes this practice brings on non-ordinary states of consciousness and can lead to profound experiences of healing.
3. Breath Holds: Great for lung health, boosts the cardiovascular system.
4. Affirmations: Positive thinking can rewire your brain, changing the way you feel about things. Affirmations work because of neuroplasticity, the brains ability to adapt to new situations and ways of thinking/feeling.
5. Visualisations: Helps cultivate relaxation and self awareness, leading to improved mental health and a greater sense of wellbeing.
There are so many proven benefits to this type of breathwork journey, all the systems of your body, especially the nervous system gets reset. The mind relaxes and let's go and this in turn helps your whole body feel more aligned and balanced. You feel more connected to yourself and your life.
We breathe together in a group and that makes an additional special energy in the room. Many people come on their own because the space is a welcoming, calm sanctuary for everyone.
The session will be in the Studio at Storey's Field Centre, Eddington, Cambridge. Please take note of parking instructions on booking (as there is free parking very near the centre and this will avoid any issues with the paid parking meters.)
Please bring with you
-A yoga mat or similar to lie on
-A blanket or two (keeping cosy is lovely during these sessions)
- A pillow if you know you like using one
-Water
