Wild Primroses Watercolour Workshop at Breezy Knees, Wednesday 14th April 2027

Wed 14 Apr 2027 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM Breezy Knees Gardens, YO19 5XS

Join us for a fun and relaxed watercolour workshop at Breezy Knees on Wednesday 14th April from 10-1pm!

Overview:

This workshop focuses on capturing the atmospheric beauty of wild primroses at this time of year using exciting watercolour techniques.

This workshop is suitable for all levels, from absolute beginners to anyone wanting to explore new techniques. Limited drawing needed. After an exploration of the colours and techniques, you’ll by guided step by step to create an primrose painting to take home with you. Using a limited but vibrant palette, you’ll explore some fun and easy to use techniques (salt, spatter, masking fluid and wax resist) as well as practising more traditional washes and wet in wet painting. All materials are provided and included in the price so you just need to bring yourself. An apron and something to take your lovely painting(s) home with you would also be useful. If you would like to bring along some sketches or photos of your own to base your painting on then that's absolutely fine.

What to Bring:

Your Tutor:

Ione is a landscape artist and tutor with over 30 years' teaching experience. Her aim in her teaching is twofold: for you to feel supported to develop confidence and skill in using the wonderful medium of watercolour; for you to have fun and spend an enjoyable, restorative time playing with colour.

Please email her at ioneharrisonart@gmail.com if you have any questions.

This workshop will take place in the Breezy Teas café building (wheelchair accessible), where your group will have exclusive use of the space under Ione's instruction. All materials, as well as tea and coffee provided. All you need is some enthusiasm!
