Keen to boost his flagging career, fading Hollywood action hero Jefferson Steel arrives in England to play King Lear.
He believes he’s landed a prestigious gig with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon. Instead, he finds himself in the sleepy village of Stratford-St-Mary, stuck with a local amateur dramatic society that is desperately trying to save its theatre from developers.
As Jefferson’s monstrous ego crashes into the eccentricities of the enthusiasts, he discovers that there are no small parts—only small people.
